ReForm School in CRAFT: 09

We've been fans of CRAFT magazine for a while now, and are proud to announce that we're now contributors as well! On November 4 you'll be able to pick up CRAFT: 09, the Green Issue, which features our how-to showing you how to create these fun re-usable "Gingerboard Houses" from cardboard, scrap paper, and ribbons. They can be used for holiday gift-giving, or for a fun decoration. Let us know what you think!

Oh and you can preview the project here in the digital edition. If you use coupon code MCRAFT you'll get $5 off a yearly subscription, plus instant access to the digital archives. Yay!

We're Movin' on Up!

If you're the type who keeps an eye on the blogosphere, you may have noticed some rumblings about our new storefront here or here. That's right, ReForm School is moving! We're still going to be in Sunset Junction, but our new space is on the "main drag" rather than around the corner, and is much larger, which will be especially helpful when our Home Ec classes kick off in January. It's also fun that we'll be closer to some of our fave local spots like Intelligentsia Coffee and the Silverlake Conservatory of Music. We're so excited for you all to see what we've been cooking up and will reopen on Election Day, so please stop by and say hello (after voting, of course!). Our new location is 3902 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90029.

Since we're in the midst of moving and have closed our (physical) doors for the time being, we thought we'd have an online sale to thank you for your support. Just use coupon code "moving08" when checking out and you'll get 15% off your online order through November 4. Thanks so much and stay tuned!

Flavors for Change

It's true...everyone does like ice cream! And one of the best places to find it in L.A. is a small shop called Scoops in East Hollywood. Scoops is owned by Tai Kim, a regular Willy Wonka of the frozen treat world, who is known for creating some truly amazing flavors like Strawberry Balsamic, Brown Bread, and even Bacon Caramel (!). He always has a good selection of vegan flavors as well, which we love. Well, Tai is now whipping up election-inspired flavors and will be serving them all week long, from October 27 - November 1. There's even an Ice Cream Social happening on Tuesday night where you can try out the flavors, meet other Obama supporters, and even send a video letter to the next president. Check it out if you can!
